Spring is almost here! Spring is my favorite time of year. Time to open up the windows and enjoy the nice breeze. We have many exciting things coming up in the next few months. Our Women in Green project with the Girl Scouts, the Reality Store and the Fashion Show just to name a few. Our local is very active in the community. Each and every member of our club should be very proud of themselves for their dedication to BPW and to our community.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day !
Member Spotlight: Kathy Landis
Early this year I ‘retired’ from PPL after twenty‐eight plus years. Most of my career there was spent in the Human Resources Information Systems section. It’s a great feeling to retire…no long commute, no long workdays at the office, and no job pressure!
Life after retirement brings a different set of responsibilities…what will I do now? At the top of my list is getting the house in order. But then again…sorting, filing, cleaning, decorating etc. . can be done any time. So, for now, I’m happy to participate in daytime activities I was unable to do while working: meeting friends for breakfast/lunch or day trips; volunteering on a regular schedule; joining a morning Bible Study group; taking a few classes; and of course spending time with Jim.
And, there is more time to read and travel…two of my favorite things. With all three of our sons living in different states along the route 95 corridors we are on the road frequently. Without the need to return home to go to the office, we will be able to take our time and visit sites along the travel path, or extend the family visits.
In the future, I may look for a part‐time position, but for now, I am enjoying my new freedom!

Life is not a race – but indeed a journey.
Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy.
Say “Thank You”, “I Love You” and “Great Job” to someone each day.
Go to church, take time for a prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh.
Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper.
Love your life and what you’ve been given, it is not accidental – search
for your purpose and do it as best you can.
Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be.
Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them.
Some of the best things really are free.
Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming.
Forgive, it frees the soul.
Take time for yourself – plan for longevity.
Recognize the special people you’ve been blessed to know.
Live for today, enjoy the moment.
Bonnie L. Mohr.
